one (a giveaway!)

Thanks for your lovely comments on my last post. You guys are awesome.

So this little blog is turning one year old in a few days and I thought I would do a giveaway to celebrate. Here's the details (top to bottom):

- Fleece Artist Merino 2/6 handdyed sock (or anything you want) yarn
- Fleece Artist Suri Blue laceweight (alpaca/blue faced leicester)
-The Plucky Knitter merino superwash sock yarn
- Mission Falls 136 Merino Superwash (2)
- Erika Knight's 'Simple Knits for Little Cherubs'
- Fiber Optic Yarns merino/tencel spinning fiber - 4 oz (says 100% merino but there's also tencel - this adds strength which is good for socks)

I chose these because I love them all and thought you might, too. The Fleece Artist and Mission Falls are also Canadian, and I don't know how available they are elsewhere.

So leave a comment about whatever you're doing/thinking/knitting and I'll pick one (boldly assuming there's more than one) using a random number generator on the day of this blogiversary - Friday Jan. 29 - 9:00pm CST. Thanks for stopping by!

And the winner is #1!

  2. Congratulations and Happy First Anniversary. I have a few items I'm knitting, the major one is a Fair Isle Sweater designed by Kathleen Taylor. When I get bored or need a break I pick up something like a hat, mittens or a cowl as we are having a very cold winter this year.

  3. Congrats on your 1st blogiversary! Knittingwise I'm working on a couple of design projects right now, as well as cranking along on the 10 shawls in 2010 challenge.

What I'd really like to be doing right now is snowshoeing across Lake Mendota in Madison, WI. Alas, what I'm really doing is housework and chores on this grey Chicago day.

  6. Ooh pretties...

Happy blogiversary! I've just cast on for the Peacock Tail and Leaf scarf from Knitted Lace of Estonia in sky blue cashmere, which is pretty awesomely decadent. I'm also taking a weaving class, where I've been weaving a navy and blue patterned fabric to sew a knee-length coat.

  7. Happy Blogaversary! The first year is always the hardest to get to, and then after that you find yourself almost forgetting they happen!

Currently, I'm about to continue knitting away at the ribbing on my Sockhead Hat (using Merino/Bamboo/Silk from Plucky Knitter) and grab a much needed, much belated cup of coffee.

  8. Happy Blorthday! Here in the SF Bay Area we are just now owing in the first ten minutes of sunshine we've had in a week. I'm between projects right now, so the rainy weather has given me a chance to review my pattern mags and books.

Thanks for having a giveaway, this is a beautiful and generous collection of prizes!

  14. So generous! I just recently found your lovely blog. As for what I'm knitting, it's simple ribbed socks with an afterthought heel. I'm not smooth with my Kitchener stitch, so this will give me twice the amount of practice.

    Happy anniversary!

  15. Happy anniversary! I must have started following your blog when it was very new---I guess I never realized because you already had your groove from the beginning.
Now off the computer and onto finish my Asymmetrical Cabled Cardi---poor thing keeps getting pushed aside while I work on other things. Today's its day, though!

  16. What beautiful photos! Congratulations on you blog anniversary.

I cast on yesterday for a Thermis neck warmer and have a hat (a friend's pattern) going also. Spring isn't far away here, so it's a race to get these done while we have a little cool weather left to enjoy them.

  20. Oh I remember my first blog-a-versary as if it was yesterday. Happy blog-a-versary to you. What a great giveaway!! I am working on something "pink". I have not disclosed yet because I don't know how it will turn out....so I don't want to jinx myself :) I have never seen that mission yarn here before - weird! I also have not set foot in a yarn store in a long time....my credit card cannot handle such outings :)
