end of year projects

Sorry for the blog silence for so long. December is a crazy month, full of concerts, parties, and general year-end holiday mayhem. But I did manage to complete a few smaller projects and they are:

Pattern: Fallback by Annie Watts
Yarn: Doodles in String Sock in 'Understory'

I loved this project. Easy and great travel knitting, so the majority of it was done in 20 min. chunks during kids' lessons and car rides. Annie is a brilliant designer with a great sense of humour. Check out her other patterns here

Pattern: Wesley Bobs by Ann Kingstone
Yarn: Sandnes Garn Sisu in 4235 (red) and 1012 (white)

Another great, quick pattern for a busy time of year. I made 7 of these in total and gave them away as small gifts.

Pattern: basic toe-up sock
Yarn: Aslan Trends Santa Fe in 0536 'Grape Vines'

I made these for my Mom because she always appreciates warm socks. I used Judy's Magic Cast On for the toe, a slip stitch heel, and then Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off at the end. One of my favourite sock 'recipes'.

Yarn: Malabrigo Rios, held double. I somehow neglected to keep the tag for this but I think it was 'Lotus'

This was for my Mom's Bichon-Schnauzer cross who does not like things pulled over her head, so I needed something with buttons. If I get any action shots of her in it I'll post them. Nice and warm for these ridiculously cold days we've been having.

Pattern: none
Yarn: Argh. Apparently I've also lost this ball band. Will update if I find it. It's Berroco Boboli in #5352 Strawberry Jam! Thanks Odessa!

I learned to weave at Knit Camp and made this lovely thing. This yarn would make anything look amazing, so it was pretty easy. Also, weaving is a rabbit hole I'm trying hard not to fall down into. I can see it being as addictive as my other fibrey pursuits.

I have a hat pattern in testing right now, so I'll talk about that soon. Stay warm!
